Where these are required in a commercial kitchen
The most common code-driven locations are pre-rinse spray units at the dish pit, hose-connection points (mop sinks, wash-down hoses), and dishwasher water supply lines. Local plumbing code (often based on the Uniform or International Plumbing Code) and your health department are the final word on exactly which fixtures require which device — when in doubt, match what was originally installed or ask your plumbing inspector.
How to tell if yours needs replacing
